The Catholic faith is like a vast ocean: children play in the breaking waves, while the profound depths challenge the mightiest ships.
In the past, seeking Catholic insights often meant flipping through dusty tomes or attending lengthy lectures. Today, exploration has gone digital. But instead of a clear path, the online world can be overwhelming. Negativity, clickbait, and endless Vatican updates can leave one feeling adrift without a compass. The focus often shifts from the beauty and depth of Catholicism to Catholic personalities arguing who will be the greatest among them or a fixation on every word that comes from the Vatican, rather than on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Naturally, one must correct errors and be mindful of the Vatican, but these concerns should never overshadow the importance of contemplating the Lord and His Mystical Body, the Church.
Out of the Depths (OTD) is my endeavor to provide a return to content dedicated to exploring the richness and beauty of the faith. With a PhD in Theology, STLs in Biblical and Dogmatic Theology, and an MA in Philosophy, I’m committed to delving deep into the essence of Catholicism. Guided by Saint Anselm of Canterbury’s principle of ‘faith seeking understanding,’ OTD is here to assist you in deepening your comprehension and love for the faith. Here, you’ll encounter a blend of familiar teachings, fresh perspectives, new insights, and topics you may not have encountered before. The goal is to enrich and encourage you.
